Keep up the good work!
I learn a lot from this blog. Will be checking for updates.
Nice post. I need to check this out.
This works great, and is surprisingly colorful. I’m in love with it, and it really adds an impressive touch to presentations. So glad I bought it, and I recommend it 100%!

The unit is very easy to use and is extremely small and light weight. The unit I received was defective and had to be returned as the picture would flicker, however for what I was able to tell about the picture quality, it is just not there. The primary use would have been to have something so portable to connect to my iPhone and even with the focus adjustments, the picture quality was just okay. Too dark and hard to see unless the room is extremely dark. I would have probably keep the unit and tried it out some more in different settings had mine not had the issues it had.
Set some realistic expectations with yourself on how this will perform. The price at Amazon is amazing at over 33% under MSRP and for the right use (traveling business professional for instance) that is just doing presentations, this would probably be just fine.

I’ve had mine for over 2 weeks now and it’s great for watching movies at night. I have an iPhone 3g and it also works with our 160gb ipod classic. You definitely need an external audio output for any type of quality sound.
It projects your photos from the iPhone Photo Album in slide show mode. If you have presentation/portfolio images saved in your Photo album, you could project them from there.
It projects from the iPhone YouTube application so even if you don’t have any movies saved there’s plenty of entertainment.
I was also able to project videos straight from a Flip HD video camera – so you can shoot and project your latest videos with that combination. Pocket Film festival right there!
It would be extra great if you could use the projector for browsing Safari, but it doesn’t work for that.

i just recieved my pico this morning and i gotta say its awesome, not really intended for business since it isnt very bright during the day but its excellent during the evening, we re watching grandmas boy on it right now off of my ipod touch and some computer speakers, the dexim ipod connector seems to be alittle big for ipod touch users since the speaker on the projector is terrible, but you can plug in headphones or for a group, some computer speakers, anyways i made a video review on youtube, search for “unboxing and review of US version Optoma Pico Pk-101 Pocket Projector”

The scientist who is primarily responsible for the BLUE laser (blu-ray technology), has recently had successes in green laser development.
Rather than having LED’s to create light for projection purposes (dim light sources), we’ll have lasers, which are concentrated light sources that are bright and focused.
Before now, there has only been red and blue lasers, but I project, that within a year, there will also be green lasers. With all 3 colors available in laser form, LED based projectors will become obsolete (low resolution, low light output).
The new, all laser-based projectors will not require lenses, or focusing. They will be bright and clear. Seeing type, will not be an issue for presentations.
What these new projectors will need to have, is wireless connectivity!
If you have to have a small projector, this unit seems to be the best. If you don’t need to spend the money now, wait just a little longer!
